Sunderland AFC has named a 26-player squad for its pre-season tour of the United States under manager Régis Le Bris. The squad will depart for Nashville, Tennessee, where they will spend a week before facing Liverpool at Geodis Park on Saturday 25 July.
After their week in Nashville, the Lads will travel to New Jersey to play Leeds United at Sports Illustrated Stadium on Thursday 30 July, before concluding their tour against Wrexham at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, on Sunday 2 August.
World Cup Players to Join Later
Seven players will join the squad later after their involvement in the FIFA World Cup. Brian Brobbey, Nilson Angulo, Habib Diarra, Robin Roefs, Simon Adingra, Arthur Masuaku, and Noah Sadiki are due to link up on 26 July.
Four other players – Granit Xhaka, Chemsdine Talbi, Omar Alderete, and Thomas Meunier – will join the squad later in pre-season after progressing to the latter stages of the World Cup.
Visa Issue for Ta Bi
Jocelin Ta Bi is unable to travel after his USA visa application was rejected. Sunderland AFC has appealed the decision and remains hopeful he will join the group in the coming days.
