Ten young players from Sunderland AFC's Academy will travel to the United States for the club's pre-season tour, gaining experience alongside the senior squad.
The travelling group includes defenders Jenson Jones, Ben Kindon and Archie Lightfoot, midfielders Jaydon Jones, Jack Whittaker, Tom Proctor and Charlie Dinsdale, and forwards Felix Scott, Timur Tutierov, Trey Ogunsuyi and Finn Geragusian.
Experience Already Gained
Several academy players have already tested themselves at senior level. Tutierov and Ogunsuyi recently completed loan spells — Tutierov at Exeter City and Ogunsuyi at both Falkirk and Shrewsbury Town. Ogunsuyi made his first-team debut for Sunderland in the FA Cup against Stoke City.
Tom Proctor, the youngest member of the group, has already scored in pre-season, netting against York City.
