Sunderland AFC has unveiled its home shirt for the 2026-27 season, marking a celebration of the club's historic 1937 FA Cup Final victory against Preston North End. The kit goes on sale from 8am on Wednesday 29 July, priced at £65 for adults and £50 for juniors.
Design details
The shirt features the current SAFC crest on the chest alongside the original city crest from 1937. The inner back of the neck lists the starting XI from that famous Wembley day, when Sunderland won 3-1 in front of 93,495 spectators.
The design includes a subtle jacquard pattern across the fabric featuring a monogram letter S created from the handles of the FA Cup, with red hummel chevrons on the shoulders.
The 1937 victory
Raich Carter, Bobby Gurney, and Eddie Burbanks scored the three second-half goals that secured the first domestic Cup success in the club's history.
Launch event and tributes
A launch event will take place at the club stadium store on Wednesday 29 July, offering themed giveaways including an FA Cup '37 pin badge and collectable player cards, alongside a display of the original 1937 shirt.
A mural dedicated to Eddie Burbanks will be created in Roker during the 2026-27 season, completing the trio of murals honouring the three goalscorers.
Free parking is available in the Blue and Green car parks from 5pm on Tuesday 28 July until 8pm on Wednesday 29 July.
