Sunderland AFC has announced that defender Finlay Holcroft has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The boyhood Sunderland fan made 17 Premier League 2 appearances last season and was named the club's Under-18 Player of the Season.

Holcroft said signing the deal was "only the start" after thanking his coaches and teammates for their support.

Head of Academy John Hewitson praised the defender's versatility, noting he can play anywhere across the back four and has produced "very pleasing performances" with the Under-21 team.
