Sunderland AFC will host Liverpool in a pre-season friendly with two key players returning from injury. Manager Régis Le Bris has named Dan Ballard, Wilson Isidor and Romaine Mundle in his starting XI for the match, which kicks off at 11pm BST.
Injury Returns
Dan Ballard, the Northern Ireland international, makes his first appearance since injury ended his 2025-26 campaign. He will partner Luke O'Nien in the heart of the Black Cats' defence, with O'Nien captaining the side.
Romaine Mundle also returns from injury, starting on the left wing.
Starting XI
Wilson Isidor, who represented Haiti at this summer's FIFA World Cup, will lead the line as striker.
