Sunderland AFC Women have signed striker Sanni Franssi on a season-long loan from Women's Super League side London City Lionesses. The 31-year-old Finland international has earned 92 senior caps for her country and brings extensive experience across Europe's top divisions.
Career Background
Franssi spent five seasons at Spanish club Real Sociedad, where she scored 39 goals in 162 appearances. Her career has also included spells at Juventus, FC Zürich and Fortuna Hjørring, as well as time in her homeland with VJS and PK-35 Vantaa.

Head Coach Mel Reay described Franssi as a "real quality addition" whose running, finishing and work rate will provide valuable contributions in WSL2. Technical Director Rehanne Skinner added that Franssi's experience at WSL and international level addresses a key position the club targeted for strengthening.
