Sunderland Women have signed American goalkeeper Noa Schumacher on a two-year contract. The 26-year-old joins from Scottish club Hibernian and will play at the Stadium of Light.
Background
Schumacher, born in California, made 32 appearances for Hibernian during the 2025-2026 season. She recorded 12 clean sheets as the Scottish side finished fourth in the Scottish Women's Premier League 1.
The goalkeeper began her career in the United States college system. She was named Western Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year in 2023 while playing for California Baptist University.

Head Coach Mel Reay said the new signing brings "excellent shot-stopping ability, a commanding presence and a strong work ethic". Reay noted that Schumacher will add competition to the goalkeeping group as the club continues her development.
