Sunderland AFC's return to away European action after 53 years delivered a historic victory in Portugal on Thursday. Noah Sadiki's stoppage-time winner secured a dramatic 3–2 win over SCU Torreense at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, with more than 5,000 travelling supporters witnessing the moment.

The Black Cats battled back from behind during the match. Jules Ahoka also scored his first goal for the club before Sadiki's late strike sparked celebrations among the Sunderland faithful in attendance.

The away trip marked a significant milestone for the club after more than five decades without competing in European fixtures away from the Stadium of Light.
